Using the Scanners

  1. Place you document on the glass of the scanner. If your document isn't transparent, be sure the white insert is placed within the guides of the top piece.
  2. Open Photoshop. Go to File/Import/Silverfast. On the PC it will be called Silverfast(EpsonIT8)
  3. Under the General Tab, choose Reflective or Transparency.
  4. Under the Frame Tab, choose 36-> 24 Bit Color if you are using color or 12 -> 8 Bit Grayscale if you are using grayscale. Choose 200 dpi if you want the quality to be like a photocopier, choose 300 dpi if you want it better, usually if you have pictures.
  5. Click the prescan button. Move the dashed lines around the area you want scanned.
  6. Click scan. The image should now come up in Photoshop. Here you can adjust levels, red eye, etc.
  7. Save the image as you need it. Jpg is the most common.

Printing transparencies
Please be sure you are using transparencies that say Laser on them. The inkjet transparencies melt in the printer and cost at least $200.00 to fix. See the staff if you have any questions.
