The Cell and Molecular Reagents facility was established to provide available cell lines, tissues, RNAs and other molecular reagents in support of research in the Canis lupis familiaris model. The facility provides seven primary resources
- RT-PCR Primers:
Primer sets designed for RT-PCR of specific transcripts have been optimized and validated.
- DLA-Typing Protocols and Primers:
Validated primer sets and protocol sources for PCR-based DLA-typing in canids.
- Frozen Tissue partially processed:
Tissues snap-frozen in liquid nitrogen, ground to a fine powder in a freezer mill and stored at -800C.
- RNA:
Total RNA extracted from various tissues and quality-verified.
- Fixed Tissues:
Formaldehyde fixed paraffin embedded tissues.
- Immune histochemistry SOPs:
Listing of SOPs for antibodies that cross-react appropriately with canine antigens.
- Cells and Cell Lines:
ESC, bone marrow stromal, and myeloid leukemia lines, plus, primary tissue and blood cells and immuno-purified hematopoletic cells.
- Reporter and cDNA Expression Constructs:
Reporter vectors that drive fluorescent protein reporters from specific canine promoters, and vectors that express canine cDNAs.
- Blastocyst cDNA Library:
Amplified cDNA Library derived from canis blastocyst.
- Cytogenetics of Canine Cells:
Canine cytogenetics service and advice.
- X/Y chromosome FISH Probes and Protocol: (item list coming soon!)
Protocol available at no charge.
For extramural colleagues access to all reagents and SOPs requires execution of a FHCRC MTA and a nominal fee that covers production and mailing. Please fill out the MTA and email it to mharkey@fhcrc.org. If you need something not listed here, contact us. We may have it.
