Associate Program Heads

While the major administrative organization of the Hutchinson Center is in four divisions (Basic Sciences, Clinical Research, Human Biology and Public Health Sciences), the Center is also organized around 18 programs that serve as interdisciplinary bridges between the divisions.

In some cases (e.g., Transplantation Biology), these programs have a structured administration, while in other cases (e.g., Breast Cancer) the programs are more akin to scientific affinity groups. Each program has a Head and an Associate Head.

Communication is the key to knowing what research is being done at the Center. The Associate Program Heads organize a variety of forums to present the Center's science and provide venues for the scientific staff to interact, both formally and informally. The Associate Program Heads have sponsored several interdisciplinary symposia, including "Viruses and Cancer" and "Epigenetics in Biology and Disease." They also organize all-faculty retreats.

The Associate Program Heads invite you to contribute ideas or meet with them. Please e-mail Julie Overbaugh with comments.
