Adult Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness 2008
June 2008
Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness event on Saturday, June 14, 2008. This free event featured keynote speaker Linda Armstrong Kelly, mother of cancer survivor and seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, as well as breakout sessions led by experts in the fields of nutrition, complementary and alternative medicine, physical therapy, fatigue and sleep, relationships and sexuality, employment issues, insurance rights, cancer genetics, emotional adaptation and cognitive function after cancer.
The event was attended by more than 260 individuals affected by cancer. The post-event evaluations reflected overwhelmingly positive impressions; requests and comments will be considered in planning future events. Many of the presentation materials from the breakout sessions are now available on our Web site at www.fhcrc.org/survivorship.
Many portions of the 2008 Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness event were video recorded. Information on how to obtain these recordings will be available on our Web site shortly.
