Microbicide Trials Network Members
Elizabeth Brown
Principal Investigator of MTN Statistical Data Management Center
Elizabeth Brown is an Associate Member in VIDD and also the Principal Investigator of the MTN’s Statistical Data Management Center. Her group’s research focuses on the design and analysis of trials for HIV prevention, including model design and biostatistical computing. She has published extensively in the area of mother-to-child transmission of HIV using probability-based statistical methods.
James Dai
James Dai is an Associate Member in VIDD. His research interests include the statistical methods in genetic association and in randomized clinical trials, especially in efficient estimation of gene-environment interactions, direct effect estimation, and causal inference
Dobromir Dimitrov
Dobromir Dimitrov is a Staff Scientist in VIDD. His current projects include a comprehensive analysis of (1) drug resistance mechanisms using mathematical models, (2) public health impact of pre-exposure prophylaxis interventions and (3) optimal combined interventions for HIV prevention.
Paul Edlefsen
Paul Edlefsen is an Assistant Member in VIDD. His group uses statistical and computational methods for bioinformatics applications, including sieve analyses of HIV vaccine trials and modeling for genome sequence analysis.
Thomas Fleming
Thomas Fleming is a Member in VIDD. His lab works on the statistical analysis and design of multiple clinical trials, and recently published on the prevention of HIV infection with early antiretroviral therapy.
Barbra Richardson
Barbra Richardson is a Member in VIDD. Her lab is currently developing methodologies for estimating breastmilk infectivity among HIV-1 infected mothers and analyzing the use of microbicides as preventive agents for sexual transmission of HIV-1 via statistical analyses.
