Dr. Denise Galloway’s office is not easy to find in this large maze of long hallways and many rooms filled with researchers peering into microscopes, glass tubes and petri dishes. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center has five major research buildings at its South Lake Union campus in Seattle. With nearly 250 full-time faculty, including Galloway, and more than 2,500 others supporting their work, the Center is a busy but calm work space, with people stationed in various labs at all hours of the day and night.
