Note: It is the responsibility of runners who are assigned a Winning Time Chip to return it to the finish line or mail it in a padded envelope to: AST, 2325 NE 32nd Court, Portland, OR 97232. Runners that fail to return their timing chip are responsible for a $30 replacement fee.

Beginning at 6:30 a.m. shuttle bus service will be available to Leschi and Seward Parks from Madison Park. Important Note: The last shuttle bus will depart Madison Park for Leschi at 7:30 a.m. and for Seward Park at 8 a.m. Post-race: Between 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. buses will return participants from Madison Park to Leschi and Seward Parks. Parking is limited at the race starts, Leschi and Seward Parks, and at the finish line, Madison Park. Carpooling to the event is encouraged.

After you cross the finish line in Madison Park, join the festivities at the Party-in-the-Park including food, music, awards and drawings for prizes donated by Madison Park merchants (winners must be present to win). Ribbons and gift certificates from Super Jock 'n Jill will be presented to the top five finishers in the 6.7-Mile and 5K runs. The Mens and Womens age groups for prizes are as follows:

Check warm-up gear at Leschi and Seward Parks, and then pick it up at the finish line in Madison Park.

There is no fundraising requirement to participate in the Shore Run/Walk, though fundraising is strongly encouraged as all proceeds benefit immunotherapy research at the Hutchinson Center. The recommended fundraising goal for individual participants is $250, and the recommended team fundraising goal is $1,000.
You can raise additional funds by asking friends, family and colleagues to make a donation to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Online donors will receive a tax receipt immediately following their donation to the e-mail address they provide. Mail-in donations will receive a tax receipt following the Shore Run/Walk. All cash and check donations must be received by 9 a.m. day of race, Sunday, June 28, 2009 to be eligible for prizes. All online donations must be received by 3 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009 to be eligible for prizes
All participants raising $250 or more in donations (excluding top three fundraisers) will be entered into a drawing. Three names will be drawn at the post-race Party-in-the-Park event. Each winner will receive two (2) coach, round-trip Continental Airlines tickets valid for lower 48 travel. Additional prizes include a two-night weekend stay in a one-bedroom suite at Residence Inn by Marriott-Seattle Downtown/Lake Union and more.
Prizes will also be awarded to the team that raises the most funds for the Hutchinson Center and for the largest team.

Cancer survivors are invited to pick up a survivor water bottle and gift bag post-race at the survivor table in Madison Park. Special thanks to the Barbo family for their support.

All registered participants in the 2009 Shore Run/ Walk will receive a commemorative Shore Run/Walk T-shirt. Some sizes may not be available for pick-up on race day at Madison Park.

Baby joggers with hand brakes and a safety harness or hard-shell helmets are allowed in the 6.7-Mile Run, 5K Run and 5K Walk. Due to insurance requirements, strollers are only allowed in the 5K Walk. Dogs, skates, bicycles, skateboards, wagons and similar wheeled devices are not permitted in any of the events. Headphones are allowed.
