I understand that:
- as a participant of the ADAMS, BAKER or HOOD climbs, I am responsible for raising $1,500 by the April 1, 2008, recommitment point and for raising a total of $3,000 by the June 2, 2008, fund-raising deadline.
- as a participant of the KILIMANJARO or ELBRUS climb, I am responsible for raising $5,000 by the February 8, 2008, recommitment point and for raising a total of $10,000 by the April 1, 2008, fund-raising deadline.
- as a participant of the RAINIER climb, I am responsible for raising $2,500 by the April 1, 2008, recommitment point and for raising a total of $5,000 by the June 2, 2008, fund-raising deadline.
- as a participant of the VOLCANOES OF MEXICO climb, I am responsible for raising $3,750 by the April 1, 2008, recommitment point and for raising a total of $7,500 by the June 2, 2008, fund-raising deadline.
I understand that if I am unable to secure the minimum in donations by the above referenced deadlines, I will allow the Hutchinson Center to charge any balance owed on a credit card (if climber continues to fund-raise after June 2, 2008 [domestic peaks] and/or April 1, 2008 [international peaks] and surpasses of his/her required minimum, charges can then be refunded accordingly). I acknowledge that I have read the Climb to Fight Breast Cancer cancellation policy, and I accept the terms as outlined.

Due to the costs associated with the climb and the limited availability of climber spots, the Climb to Fight Breast Cancer must adhere to a stringent cancellation policy. The registration fee for the Climb is $200 ($500 for Kilimanjaro, Volcanoes of Mexico and Elbrus). This amount will be included in your fund-raising total. The registration fee is due at the time of registration and non-refundable, regardless of whether you surpass your fund-raising minimum. Please include with completed application form.
Cancellation by April 1, 2008 Recommitment Point
(Adams, Baker, Hood, and Rainier):
Climber cancellations will be processed if notice is received by April 1, 2008. Climbers who cancel by April 1, 2008 will not be responsible for the fund-raising commitment. Any donations received up to the point of cancellation will go to the event regardless of reason for withdrawal.
Cancellation by February 8, 2008 Recommitment Point
(Elbrus, Volcanoes of Mexico and Kilimanjaro):
Climber cancellations will be processed if notice is received by February 8, 2008. Climbers who cancel by February 8, 2008 will not be responsible for the fund-raising commitment. Any donations received up to the point of cancellation will go to the event regardless of reason for withdrawal.
Cancellation After the Recommitment Point:
After April 1, 2008, climbers must raise the full fund-raising commitment or have the difference charged to the credit card on file.
Please Note:
All cancellation requests must be made in writing and be received in the Hutchinson Center Special Events office by February 8, 2008 for Elbrus, Volcanoes of Mexico and Kilimanjaro or April 1, 2008 for Adams, Baker, Hood or Rainier. Please do not use e-mail. Cancellation requests should be sent to: Climb to Fight Breast Cancer, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Mail Stop J5-200, PO Box 19024, Seattle, WA 98109-1024.
Injured participants may elect to transfer the registration fee and any dollars raised to the 2009 Climb to Fight Breast Cancer (2008 peak offerings are not guaranteed in 2009). A letter from a doctor must be sent to: Climb to Fight Breast Cancer, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Mail Stop J5-200, PO Box 19024, Seattle, WA 98109-1024.
Registration fee is fully tax deductible* and is non-refundable, regardless of whether you surpass your fund-raising minimum. Registrations will be processed on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited, so be sure to register early. Rainier applicants are subject to guide service approval.
Enclosed is my $200 registration fee ($500 for Kilimanjaro, Volcanoes of Mexico and Elbrus).

WAIVER: I hereby release Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC), Alpine Ascents International, Portland Parks & Recreation, Lisa Carlson & Associates, Laura Welle, and any Climb to Fight Breast Cancer sponsors and their agents, directors, employees, and Climb to Fight Breast Cancer volunteers from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action (including those relating to property damage, personal injury or death) arising from participation in the Climb to Fight Breast Cancer and related activities. I realize that mountaineering can be physically challenging and may expose me to dangers and risks of personal injury or death that cannot be anticipated or prevented. I assume the known safety risks posed by the climb. I acknowledge that I have read the entry information and verify that I have full knowledge of the risks involved and am physically fit to participate in this climb. I grant permission for all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. I understand FHCRC reserves the right to withdraw a climber’s eligibility should a team or individual’s safety be jeopardized. Climbers under the age of 18 must have written consent from a parent or guardian.
